BUJUMBURA, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Burundian government and the United Nations system in Burundi have launched a four-year program for the fight against HIV/AIDSlevvvelcomcoinmasterfreespins2022.

The joint program is worth about 40 billion Burundi francs (about 14 million U.S. dollars), said Public Health and AIDS Control Minister Lyduine Baradahana Wednesday evening after the launch.

"The aim is to have a Burundi with zero new HIV infection, zero death caused by HIV and zero discrimination or stigmatization caused by HIV by 2027," she said.

The program will be implemented in five of Burundi's 18 provinces -- Muyinga, Makamba, Gitega, Kirundo and the Municipality of Bujumbura, Baradahana said.

HIV/AIDS, malaria and diabetes are the three deadliest diseases in Burundi.■
